To honor the 20-year career of professional basketball player Kobe Bryant, Nike has released the Kobe 11 Mamba Day iD sneaker ($225). The last shoe of Kobe’s professional career, it dropped shortly after tipoff of Kobe’s farewell game as a Laker on Wednesday. The allover graphic print is a series of numbers highlighting pivotal moments of the athlete’s career: the dates of his first and last games, four All-Star MVPs, 18 appearances in the All-Star game, five NBA championships, a record 81 points scored in one game, 20 years in the NBA, and a 24 for his jersey number. Kobe retires as the third-leading scorer in NBA history.
It’s likely that these shoes are going to sell out quickly, and we can think of one celebrity who probably already has her order in.
